Yukon Summer Music Camp

Introduction to Improvising

Photo 2022 07 26 23 57 30

Join instructor Logan Bennett in exploring the dark arts of music...the great unknown.

How does a person create music spontaneously?  Where do the ideas come from?  Does technique help the process of improvising and if so, are there ways of developing our skills that foster more creativity in our playing?  What are some of the common creative blocks that many people encounter when trying to improvise?  How can we overcome - or work with - these challenges?

All these questions and more will be explored through hands-on games, experimentation, mock performances, and hopefully very few words.
